Set up crew and lantern assembly - Sunshine Coast

Role Purpose and Overview

The purpose of this role is to set up the site for our Light the Night event. This will include manual lifting and being on your feet for a couple of hours.

Direct reports/functions

Reports to: Community Supporters Coordinator.

Accountabilities

Volunteers in this role may be required to complete some or all of the following requirements:

  • Unpack event storage

  • Distribute infrastructure to correct marquees

  • Set up outdoor seating area

  • Set up contents of marquees

  • Move crowd control barriers into position

  • Place signage around site

  • Distribute bins around site Secure bunting on marquees and bins.

  • Cleaning of site

  • Unpack lantern boxes

  • ​Remove packaging and seals Assemble lanterns

Other Information

Attire

Please have a neat and tidy appearance Wear closed in, comfortable shoes (no heels) You will be given a high vis vest and a name badge If you are volunteering in the daytime, please wear a wide brim hat and sunscreen If you are volunteering in the evening, you may wish to bring along a light coat.

Meal details

Water and sandwiches will be available for all volunteers. Other food vendors will be available for purchase on the night.
